Large Scale Football Transport

As Xelabus, we were proud to be chosen as the transport provider for the recent Southampton v Portsmouth game at St Mary's Stadium. To ensure smooth operations and meet the high demand, we allocated 23 buses specifically for this occasion.

From the moment planning began, our priority was clear: reliable transport, passenger comfort, and impeccable timing. Each bus was staffed with experienced drivers and support personnel, all briefed thoroughly on the route details, pick-up point, schedules, and safety protocols.

On the day, the operation unfolded largely as we had anticipated. Our buses arrived on time, and we monitored traffic and passenger flow carefully, ready to respond to any delays or unexpected pressure points. We kept in communication with event organisers, traffic control and police forces to manage sudden changes or diversions.

One of the highlights of the operation was the brilliant cooperation with the police escorts. Their support from Portsmouth to Southampton, and from Winchester to Southampton, ensured smooth passage for our services during peak demand, helping us keep passengers moving safely and efficiently.

We would also like to give special thanks to Lucketts Coach Travel in Fareham, who allowed us to partner alongside them on this large-scale operation. Their professionalism and teamwork were invaluable, and together we ensured that the transport service matched the scale and importance of the event.

Feedback from passengers was positive, many appreciated the efficient service, the friendly and professional behaviour of drivers, and the clarity of the schedule.
